Madav Sharma is a freelance journalist who has contributed special reports to multiple news publications which include The Wire, Down to Earth, Newslaundary, Logical Indian, and India Spend.
He started his career in 2013 with Rajasthan Patrika, and went on to become the Special Correspondent with Dainik Bhaskar. He covers stories on Gender issues, Health, Environment, Social and Development issues.
He was selected as a fellow in 2019 with the The Media Rumble, a fellowship run by Newslaundary and PFI. In the same year, he was facilitated by UNICEF and Lok Samvaad Sansthaan for his report on education, and was awarded the Indian Institute of Mass Communication Alumni Award for reporting on the bonded labour of stone mines of Boondi district.
Besides journalism, he is also keen on learning documentary film making. He believes that some stories need powerful visuals more then just words to convey the essence.
