Mobile Journalism Fellowship

Mobile Journalism Fellowship

Journalists have been breaking news and covering stories using their phones for years, and events like the lockdowns have increased the need for mobile journalism skills. So, Internews and Qisa Lab partnered up to conduct the Mobile Journalism Fellowship.

Journalists from across India were invited to learn how to cover stories that they are passionate about, using their mobile phones. The fellowship provided 64 journalists with skill development, production support, equipment, and the opportunity to apply for grants to produce and publish stories.

As part of the fellowship, fellows covered stories ranging from education to press freedom. Fellows also participated in sessions by Internews that covered digital security and fact-checking.

The fellows who participated in two rounds of fellowship came from 19 different states across India. Their stories were published in more than 15 publications.
